SAG-Tek Ltd is a precision engineering company based in Coalville, Leicestershire, UK. Founded in 2025, the company was established to bring Shape Adaptive Grinding (SAG) technology into production-ready tooling and automated finishing systems for advanced manufacturing industries.
Today, SAG-Tek supplies precision polishing tools and robotic polishing systems to manufacturers in aerospace, medical devices, optics, and precision engineering — supporting customers from initial trials through to full-scale automated production.
Shape Adaptive Grinding
SAG-Tek’s products are built around Shape Adaptive Grinding — a process originally developed for precision optics manufacturing that we have adapted for broader industrial applications.
The core principle is compliant, pressure-controlled contact: the tool conforms to the workpiece rather than the other way around. This enables consistent finishing on complex geometries without manual skill dependency, improving repeatability, reducing variability, and supporting automated production.
We work closely with customers to develop finishing processes for their specific components — from initial trials and parameter development through to production-ready automated workflows.
Every SAG-Tek system is configured to the customer’s machine, material, geometry, and target surface finish requirements. The result is a controlled, repeatable finishing process designed specifically for production manufacturing.
